The first was the Prague City Museum. I generally love these types of municipal, small museums because they teach you a lot about the city and not just the country or people, they have oft-overlooked pieces of history and being small, they demand your attention for around an hour - the perfect museum duration!

Unfortunately there were no photos allowed, so I can’t share with you the amazing 3-D model of the entire city completed by Antonin Langweil. It’s a place that is really worth a visit if you’re ever here. Plus the building itself is quite pretty in its own right…
The second stop on our history tour was the Museum of Communism in the city centre itself. What an interesting journey back into the tumultuous and sad history of the Czech Republic! I’ve been to a few of these types of museums before including in Latvia.
This one was just as good, giving insight into the fall of the country under the Communist spell and the events and atrocities that took place until the so-called Velvet Revolution in 1989 which saw the formation of Czechoslovakia. A really nice change of pace on a rainy day.
I’ll leave you with some pics courtesy of Hel.
